Refill Station Swapp!
We build our machine based on the knowledge we have learned from our 18months pilot. It was extremely important to us, to build a very efficient product, both for Retail and Producers.
That’s why our station is light, mobile, does not take up much space in the store, and gives as much space for products.
In our Refill Station, we can sell up to 8 products from even 8 different categories. It has a printer for labels, a QR reader for recognizing the Swapp! bottle and what is very important is connected to the cloud so we can monitor all activities in the machine.
Swapp! apps
Software plays a huge role in our model. Stations are of course the main point of contact with the customer, but the whole thing is combined into one system that provides value for all parties.
So end-user can use the Swapp! app for localization of the Refill Station, products inside, available capacity of that product, price, and also can track their carbon footprint. But the main feature is the Swapp! bootle monitoring. Our user can add bootle to the system using individual QR codes and next time when it will back to the station, he can use it as a login device. This gives him control of the lifecycle of the bottle.
For business partners, we have a web panel prepared, in which they can monitor all processes related to the sale of products. Businesses can monitor every activity inside of RS
Swapp! reusable packaging
Our 3rd element of Refill Station is a bottle. The Swapp! bottle is made from plastic, special granular HDPE material. It can be refilled more than 30 times, min. 1 year and can be washed in the dishwasher, and at the end of life, fully recycled.
We have conducted a series of tests of the following materials: aluminum, steel, glass, HDPE, rHDPE, and PET. We used a multi-criteria evaluation to evaluate the packaging – the main evaluation criteria were material formability, functional aspects, carbon footprint, recyclability, and price. Additionally, we assessed the carbon footprint based on the PN-EN ISO 14067 standard and the designed raw material flow stream. More detail you can find: here.
We have equipped them with the individual QR code which means they are a part of our software ecosystem. We think also about the deposit system and subscription model in the future.
Swapp! Labs
In Swapp! Labs, we are continuously looking for exciting and challenging engagements with FMCG producers to introduce refill systems in new product categories and products. Currently, we are in the process of building a sustainable channel for selling pasta with the largest pasta manufacturer in Poland.
